Rules and Requirements on the Learning Log

To ensure that the blog is useful and clear for everyone, here are some guidelines which you should follow:

1) Do not add new posts unless you have been assigned to do so. If you have any questions or comments, use the 'Comment' button in the posts, 

2) Remember the CRAP and FATS principles when making a post or comment:

A) Write Clearly. You should write in a first person, either personal (I learnt... I did...) or as a class (we learnt... we did). Include FATS in your post (Feelings, Actions, Thought, Speech). 

B) Include only Relevant information. Do not include things which are unimportant. The more irrelevant information there are in the blog, the less effective it becomes. 

C) Provide Accurate information. Check and check that all information is accurate, e.g. Deadlines, page numbers, topics, etc. 

D) Be Precise. This blog is to allow you to reflect on your learning. Write down in details what you have learnt that day, the tasks and their requirements, and information which would be necessary for you and your classmates to note. 

3) Post Requirements: When writing a post, include the 3 subjects you learn in TAG class (English, Math and Science.). If you want to cover subjects done in Form (HCL, Art, etc), you may. Your friends from the other form classes may add further information in the comments section. You should include the key learning points and work done for the day. Also include homework to be completed for the subject. An example is provided below:

English: Today, Mr Lim covered the basics on writing our thoughts in a personal posts. He showed us some examples from blogger.com and we used Safari to find out more about blogging. My group mates and I visited some websites about education and we learnt how they express their thoughts on learning. The homework Mr Lim assigned is to write a blog post on the class website and it is due in class tomorrow (10 Feb 2015)!

Mathematics: Miss Chia went through whole numbers again and we did a really fun exercise on using the Sieve of Eratosthenes to find Prime numbers. Most of us were able to find the primes up to 100. Homework is to find the primes from 100-200 using the Sieve. Due Wed (11 Feb 2015). 

Science: Mrs Seah covered the various aspects of heat transfer and some key concepts covered are convection and conduction. We are supposed to read and find out the difference between convection and conduction and put it in a short Keynote Presentation before the next lesson on 13 Feb 2015. We need to find 2 examples of each and use relevant pictures to explain the difference. 

4) Deadline for posts: All posts should be up by 4 pm everyday (Except for days you have special lessons/outings). If you are the assigned 'poster' for the day, do ask the teachers for 1-2 minutes before the end of each lesson to start working on it. By the end of the day, you should have all your posts up and you can edit and publish once it is done. If you are absent or unable to make a post in time on that day, please swap with someone else and you have to take that person's slot at a later date. Do email me and let me know as well so I can update the roster.
